(More customer reviews)So far I'm very pleased with this new Seagate drive.This is the third Seagate drive I've purchased recently and each one has installed without a single glitch.
The main reason for this is the CD/Software that comes with each drivecalled DiskWizard.This program will setup your drive for you, and then mirror your current drive including Operating System or you can install it as a second drive. No more fdisk, format, etc., DiskWizard does all of this for you. (Check Windows version compatibility)
If you are replacing a drive, after running DiskWizard, set the jumper (if not using CS (Cable Select) to Master, remove your old drive, turn the PC on and it boots right up. Truly painless.
This drive has performed very well, is fast, and has a high capacity for storing massive amounts of photos, movies, and mp3's.
The drive seems to be well designed and quality is outstanding.

Improvements - The $599 Mac Mini now sports 512 MB of DDR SDRAM, which is twice the memory the original Mac Mini included.This is a significant upgrade.The majority of users can now buy, out of the box, a machine that performs beautifully and allows a fair amount of multi-tasking.The Mac operating system, Mac OS X Tiger, thrives on memory, and 512 MB helps to create a speedy experience, for users.
Bluetooth - Bluetooth is a great wireless technology that Apple heavily backs, and it is included with this Mac Mini, an addition, from the original Mac Minis, when bluetooth was an optional add-on, at Apple.com, for $50 more.Purchase a bluetooth keyboard or bluetooth mouse, and they will work wirelessly, with your Mac Mini.It makes for a very clean and uncluttered desktop.There are also many mobile phones and PDAs, which utilize bluetooth technology, which you can sync to your mac using isync, included with Mac Mini.
Airport Extreme - This is the wireless networking card now included with the $599 Mac Mini, after being a $70+ upgrade at Apple.com, on the previous model.Do you have a wireless-b or wireless-g network in your home?If so, the Mac Mini will be able to connect to it, without problem.Again, making the computing experience simpler and less tangled.

Drawbacks?The $599 version of the Mac Mini no longer includes a modem, if you want this version of the Mac Mini with a modem, you will have to custom-order it at Apple.com.However, the ethernet port is included on the back, to plug into a DSL or cable modem, plus you have the Airport Extreme, for wireless connections.However, if you don't have broadband, you'll need a modem for dial-up, so you will either need to order a custom-built Mac Mini at Apple.com, or buy the stock $499 model, which includes a modem, but lacks the wireless components.
Overall, Apple has created another fantastic product, with the Mac Mini, and the July 2005 update only made it better.You get more memory, plus wireless connectivity via bluetooth and airport extreme.This Mac Mini really includes everything the average user needs to enjoy the internet, manage his or her digital life, and have fun doing it all.

(More customer reviews)I bought a version of this computer that has a few added videophile features such a Blu Ray player and Dolby 5.1 output.No matter - with or without those goodies this is one excellent laptop.
Two particular components stood out to me. The first is the screen which is vibrant and detailed like no other I have used. (I work coordinating a help desk for an AT department) It has a glossy surface like a pane of glass which adds tremendously to the appearance of depth in the images (but also makes placement critical to avoid reflections).Absolutely superb.
Second is the keyboard which is more like that of a desk computer than a laptop. The 16/9 video format screen allows for a correspondingly wide keyboard.A unique construction provides a desktop type feel without the depth a desktop-type keyboard typically requires. (The laptop thus remain relatively light and thin.)
Other features include 4 USB jacks, a monitor output, a network jack (along with a fine built in 802.11b/g/n wireless connection), Multi-Gesture Touchpad, 4 gigs of RAM, a Dual-Core Processor and Windows 7. Additional goodies include a built in web cam and mike.
There are numerous small touches that show great care in design. Two examples: There is a small lighted switch next to the touch pad that turns it on and off. No more "where did the curser jump to?") Also the surface surrounding the keyboard is slightly textured in such a way as to both look great and be less prone to showing contact soiling.
This is my 2nd Acer computer. The first, a small netbook, has been flawless during its 1st year of service. I have no reason to expect otherwise from this far more deluxe model.

(More customer reviews)These will likely work ok if you meet every requirement that they state, at the website. My mistake was to want more then 15 ft (5M) of cat 5 cable between the host and the terminal. Or a special cat6 that has individually shielded twisted pairs for 10m(33 ft), don't forget to find a way to ground the shielding.
I barely got 24 ft from standard cat6. screen was off center and the trackball wouldn't work half of the time. and the longer the cable the worse the screen sync lines that travel up the screen.
And Never try to plug into an Ethernet device like a switch or router. you are totally dependent on the proprietary software and cables. If these are within your parameters, it may work well for you.
When they say 5 meters they mean it - nothing worked with a 6 meter cable (cat5)
The cable length (and not mentioning it until after installation when I was troubleshooting the problem) was a deal breaker.I Lost the job, and the client. sending it back.
