(More customer reviews)This is a large cheap functional disk (2Tb). Yes, like many Hitachi disks it will disconnect from a Mac when the Mac powers down so as to save power but when the Mac comes out of sleep you get a little message on the screen to say that a hard disk disconnected, you click 'ok' and the disk reappears, just like with this drive's predecessor. Not a big problem in exchange for cheap bulk storage that works (I have several of these drives). Hopefully Hitachi will correct this behavior in a future firmware but it is not a show-stopper when using a Mac by any means. Perfect for bulk storage of very large files like home video etc.
