(More customer reviews)i had bought 4 sticks of 4gb of the 9200 (this one is 9600).the memory heat spreaders are very thick and bulky and will NOT allow you to use 4 sticks of these.

as it is i was BARELY able to squeeze in 2 of these and 2 of the reaper series sticks (though they are in at an angle)

so if you plan to use all 4 channels DO NOT get this.

(More customer reviews)First let me say that OCZ makes decent reliable Ram and these are no different.

The Heat sinks are more for decoration than function as cited from various reviews on the net. Those who have a cramped area around their memory slots may want to pass on this ram as the sinks can really get in the way of things since it makes them more or less double the height.

Performance wise they are average and on par with most DDR2 800MHZ on the market.

Overall they work as they should and may look cool in a custom case but the Heat Pipe is worthless for cooling so buy for the look not the cooling.

3 Stars for being space hogs.

Could seriously do without the gaudy gold plated bling on the heat spreaders, but they work, and I don't have to look at it.

Buy it from Amazon - almost $30 cheaper than ZipZoomFly (not available at NewEgg as of this writing). Excellent deal for outstanding memory.

Used on an MSI X58 Pro-E Mobo (along with an Intel Core i7 920 and an XFX HD 4890 850M with 1GB of DDR5 RAM). No conflicts, lockups, or other issues.

It also has nice heat sinks built in, not like some of the flimsy clip on heatsinks.The system detected the SLI configuration right away and loaded the EPP with no issues.A fresh install of Vista64 SP1 detected all 4 GB with no issues.I was able to do a mild overclock from 2.4GHz to 3.0GHz with no stability issues.I'd recommend this for anyone on a budget, looking for mild overclocks.[...]

(More customer reviews)When I built my new PC a few months back this memory was very expensive so I went with decent 800mhz ddr2 non SLI compliant. I was sad when I ran the service score and every aspect of the PC was at 5.9 excelt memory which was at 4.3. After installing this memory and changing the settings in the bios I was able to get to a 5.7. Since some of the software I run does not work well with a 64 bit system OS I need to stick with 4gigs. The memory its self is outstanding. I am fairly sure if I overclock it (currently at 0% OC) I would get a 5.9 (max score). Since Vista is a memory hog this is a plus. I may even need to try it on my xp pro and linux systems later to see how well it works (or doesnt).

(More customer reviews)I have been running with this RAM in my MacBook Pro 17 (Summer 2009) for over 6 weeks.Not one lockup/freeze or problem of any kind.Programs are faster in general and I don't worry about closing applications any more.Apple computers through the years have been extremely finicky about RAM quality.I can't recommend these SO-DIMM's high enough.I put my old factory 2GB sticks for the MacBook Pro 17 into my wife's new MacBook 13.That worked perfectly..

These two 4GB SO-DIMM sticks cost $1200 from Apple directly.Spoil yourself and don't feel guilty about buying them here for much less -- especially if you use Parallels Desktop, or VMWare.Kingston will back you up, Amazon will also.

Memory actually shows up as 800MHz in system bios but that can be easily fixed via manual settings. PC2-8500 is actually OC'ed PC2-6400 that is tested to run stable at 1066 MHz. I have used all brands of memory in many system builds and Corsair is one of my favorites. Corsair has an awesome support team....one of the best!

(More customer reviews)I did buy this product to replace my Kingston ValueRam DDR800 CL5 and although this ram is good and I have set it 800Mhz with timings to 4-4-4-12 2.0V I didnt raelize any difference in benchmarks(3Dmark2006) and in Everest comparing bandwidth and latency with my valueram PC6400 actually seen some lower bandwidth values in hyperx and also i noticed no difference in gaming. So i dont know why this ram should be considered as "special" hyperx. Also my valueram easely overclocked to 900Mhz and this one wont. By the way my system is stable and i have no problems at all with it.

Just had to change one simple setting on my Gigabyte mobo to realize the advertised specs... (XMP=disabled should be XMP=Profile 1) and all of a sudden, it went from the mobo default CAS-8 at 1.5V to the memory default CAS-7 at 1.65V like advertised.Easy-peazy for an amateur techie like me.

They are not super high end so expect to get what you paid for. They can be modified to add cooling fins. I would recommend getting these if you were going to run then with out an extreme OC.

I bought this for my first built, along with a corsair PSU.The setup is not really hard, you set the frequency, the latencies and you are good to go. The reason for the bad rating follows.

The good:
High frequency, low latency, well built, nice heat sinks, lifetime warranty, great consumer support by corsair.My current config is 1600MHz, 7-7-7-20-T1 @ 1.65v.

The not so good:
No instructions, not a single sheet with specs, which in my opinion is unbelievable.How much costs a single sheet with stock configurations?? 5 cents??Most of other kits have their specs in the corsair website, but as of 14 November 2009, this one has none...
