(More customer reviews)The P2370HD is an exceptional monitor for people with modest demands of their display. On the plus side, it has very good colour for a TN-type panel (more on this in a second), absolutely fantastic connection options, one of te fastest displays in current availability and a bright, vibrant picture which is only offset by a merely-average black level and some backlight bleed with extremely dark images (helped by Dynamic Contrast but not in all situations). It lacks a pivot, a terrible omission, but is still fairly stable on its (non-adjustable) base. It connects to 4:3 and 16:9 sources, even composite and component SD sources, as well as HDMI, DVI and VGA sources (but DualLink DVI-D is strongly advised), and the 1920x1080 native resolution is perfect for 16:9 movies and BluRay.

Thus, if you simply need a very good TV or home computer display, stop reading now and get out your credit card. However, this is only a *fair* monitor for professional photo or graphics work. Like all TN displays, it suffers from slight but significant changes in gamma when viewed more than a few degrees off-axis, and even at 6500 K has a teensy pink tinge which can be compensated for with good colour calibration, but with a corresponding reduction in gamut. Despite sRGB's 2.2 gamma, this monitor performs much better closer to 1.8 or to its native gamma of 2.7+. There is also faint banding on grey ramp tests which is to be expected from a 6-bit display, again compensatable by compressing the dynamic range, but then it also takes away from the contrast range the monitor has to offer. Incidentally, don't use Dynamic Contrast when connected to your PC or Mac, it's really very distracting. Adjust the contrast and brightness yourself.

Note that all of the things I've complained about will go completely unnoticed by probably 90% of customers and this monitor outperforms a great many lesser displays which show problems similar to this much worse, which is why I gave it the four-star rating. However, for the 10% of us who need a colour-perfect display and can tolerate a slightly slower speed, an IPS panel would be strongly advised, even for a display that is (for a TN) as good as this one. While I'm keeping mine to use as -- surprise! -- a television set, I'll be buying an IPS panel for my photo work. But everybody else will love it.

Glad I did!There is no going back to a regular monitor again.This Viewsonic model I found to have the clearest picture and much bettercolor representation than the other brands. It's unbelievable how sharpthis unit is. I saw it at a local store (Compusa I think it was) and itlooked great there, it's even better sitting on my desk at home. I can'tsay enough good things about this monitor. The clarity and everything isfabulous! I could sit in front of the VP150 all day long and not feel anyeye strain. Even works great with some games I like to play.

(More customer reviews)I am really happy with the purchase of this monitor.I haven't seen too many reviews on it, so I was bit skeptical at first when purchasing it.It is the perfect size, 5ms response time, HDCP compliant, 16:9, and has a 20000:1 contrast ratio.One of the things about monitors in this size is the 16:9 viewing ratio - Some are not, and if you are interested in watching HDTV on your monitor then you'll have black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, which I personally don't like.Pairs well with a Blu-ray player and HDCP compliant video card.I'm using it for all sorts of tasks - video and picture editing, blu-ray movies, internet, etc.I'm not a gamer so I can't comment on that end of it.All in all, a great value for the size and quality.

One note on the stand assembly:Use a bit of olive oil and place it around the rubber ring on the inside of the stand insert.This helps the stand slide into place much more easily, and will not hurt the monitor as long as you use the olive oil sparingly.

ASUS VH242H 23.6-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black Review

(More customer reviews)After 3+ months of great use of the VH242H, I cam home to find a problem that seems to be affecting/afflicting several other reviewers of this monitor - a flickering gray screen that does not seem to abate. I'll be hitting up ASUS service in the next few days, and will update this review or add comments as things progress.

Up until now, I've been very happy with this monitor and would certainly have given it 4 stars. I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 star because it did so well. I might downgrade it depending on how ASUS service deals with this monitor.

[UPDATE 12/21/09]

Well, the monitor has gone to the ASUS repair facility and returned to me (with about a 2-week lag, and not the best online information regarding whether the monitor had been shipped or not), and it worked right out of the box.

And then it didn't. After putting my MacBook Pro to sleep and waking it up I found... the flickering BLACK screen of death. After jiggling, I was able to get the monitor working, but this happens now every time I either put the computer to sleep or unhook the monitor cable (which connects to a DisplayPort adapter). I've updated the video; more to follow soon.

(More customer reviews)I am using this monitor right now as a backup monitor for my main which died last week. I got this one because of 2 main things; price and repsonse time. If you are into games then you know what a fast response time means. It means less video tearing and faster black to black. My last monitor was 8ms and I thought that it was perfect. Now with this one I am very impressed.

LCD Video Projector (Includes HDMI Cable & Extra Bulb) Great for DVD, Wii, XBox, Playstation Review

(More customer reviews)Ive had this Projector for alittle while now and im very impressed for the $320 i paid for it . It has a lot of nice Features for the price and most importantly the picture it provides is fantastic . now this is not some $1500 - $4000 projector so dont expect the same picture your gona get out of a 1080p LCD , LED or Plasma TV but it certinly holds its own . it has both a 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio but only will project 16:9 in and through HDMI. i dont know why it wont support it through HD/AV cables . i use it for both my PS3 and 360 and games and blu ray movies. they play and work great on it . you get a nice bright and vibrant picture out of this unit espicialy in darkness . it looks pretty good with just alittle bit of light but like most projectors the darker the better . it has a 1800 lumins lens . now if you dont know if 1800 is good or not . its considered that 1500 is good and 2000 is great .

i would have given this projector 4 1/2 stars if i could . what holds it from being 5 stars are a few things . it is alittle noisy but not annoyingly bad . i never really notice the noise it makes after 2 min but some people may be abit more picky then me . The menue navigation is abit of a pain though espicialy with the remote . it also has what most LCD projectors produce as well the " screen window " which means what it sounds like but this is only ever noticable if you are close to the screen like with in 7-8 feet and i sit 14 feet away from the screen and have it projected at 100" which is the max recomended size and i dont see it . the most annoying thing is the instruction manuel ... i mean who wrote this thing a cave man !? its not very helpful very vague . i will give you one of the lines from this thing . "When the thunder happen or long time no use , please pull the power cable out of projector" i mean i got some laughs out of it atleast . just dont expect the manuel to give you much help.
also make sure you have a surround sound system for this thing the audio out of the projector is pretty bad .

In the end though for a $320 projector this is a great deal if i paid $600 or $700 i wouldn't feel like i got ripped off one bit . so if you are lookin to build a nice home theater system i would highly recomend the HTP LCD Projector if you dont wana break the bank . i built mine for $700 when u include the projector , 100" screen , Sony bravia Surround sound and a few odds and ends things like cables . I deffinitly feel like i have the movie expericance in my house and every one els who has seen it says the same thing.

(More customer reviews)This is a great system and never had an issue with it until last week when computer just stopped working.No matter what I do, I cannot reboot.And convenient for HP, my warranty expired last month.I suspect it is a Vista issue, but HP should bare some responsibility for using inferior products.Either pay the extended warranty fee or look elsewhere.Customers should not be replacing a $2,000 computer system 13 months after purchase!Ridiculous.
