PROS
- Screen is very bright (I had to turn it down), and very clear at native resolution
- Mine has no dead pixels
- "Ghosting" effect while paying fast-paced games is very minimal
- Comes with a DVI cable (many don't)
- GridVista software included is a handy tool that allows you to arrange open windows in a grid on your screen so you don't have to constantly switch between them.

CONS
- I can notice a *slight* change in brightness from the top of the screen to the bottom, even when looking straight at the screen. When I tilt the screen up or down, this difference becomes more apparent. But it isn't so bad as to be distracting as long as you have the monitor facing you perfectly.
- The screen is only 6-bit, which is below the ideal 8-bit. What this means is the monitor can only display a limited number of colors. Most users may not notice the minor dithering this causes, but to those who are into professional photo or video editing, you should probably cough up more cash for a monitor with an 8-bit screen.
- The stand is difficult to adjust and doesn't allow for much customization.
- The connectors are located in an inconvenient spot behind the stand.

For me, the pros far outweigh the cons. If you aren't looking to spend a boatload but want a large, impressive widescreen then this is the monitor you want!

(More customer reviews)The ViewSonic VA2231WM 22 inch monitor offers a beautiful picture, great resolution, 1920 x 1080 native, relatively poor speakers (but if you cared about sound quality, you would have a separate set of descent speakers anyway).It comes with BOTH a DVI cable, and a VGA cable; plus a cable to support directing your sound output into the monitor's speakers.The base was really easy to attach without tools; all other setup was trivial too.

If you're getting by with speakers that cost less than $20, then you'll be happy with the space savings of the built in speakers.If you "need" high quality sound, then just leave the speaker part of this monitor unplugged, you'll still come out better off (and you won't see the speakers anyway).

The performance of this monitor seems great statistically, although I have it hooked to my laptop via a Targus docking station (via DVI) that connects via USB to the computer, I'm sure that I can't get all that stellar performance this way, but that's not it's purpose for me.

This monitor is highly recommended, it has a great price here on Amazon.com.Buy one for yourself.

(More customer reviews)I bought this monitor to replace a 10 year old 18" LCD.The monitor was easy to assemble, the color and size are nice, very nice.It took a little tweaking to get the color right on my Mac Mini, but once done the picture is quite stunning.
There are a couple of downsides, hence the 4 stars.The monitor does support DVI, but does not come with a DVI cable only VGA.Luckily, I had a spare DVI cable.Second, the speakers are not really good.They are fine for normal computer use, but if listen to a lot of music or movies on your computer, you will probably not like the built-in speakers.
All in all, a great monitor for the price.I recommend it.
