So, I purchased the CK-51 Cradle Kit mainly for the easily attachable, rechargable battery pack. Although I almost never use the cradle, the battery pack has never been taken off the printer once in the last four years. I can still print at least 25 or more pages of data on a single charge. Laptop and battery-operated printer have bounced all the globe with me, without a glitch. A most excellent addition to the Canon line of products!

The lithium-ion battery has a memory-free charging capability that allows you to recharge when it's convenient--you don't have to run the battery down before it will accept a full charge, with no long-term side effects. On a two-hour charge, you can expect approximately 450 printed pages from your i70; less if the full-color photo options are employed.
The second piece in the kit combines two functions. It cradles your printer in an upright position, giving it a space-saving spot on your desktop; the bottom side contains a convenient charger for the battery. Canon provides a one-year warranty, which covers parts and service.

(More customer reviews)Driver loaded first time no problem, battery charged quickly, test print came out perfect, test printed a 8.5 x 11 photo, it took about a minute and came out great on the included standard ink. The printer weight is 5.4 lbs with the battery installed it's not light but it's not that bad either. I owned a Canon portable, it lasted 10 months and had to be replaced under warranty, I quickly sold the replacement, they are slow and noisy, they cost way more, the ink cartridges are very tiny and expensive, I had to refill my own to afford to use it, the HP cartridges hold twice as much ink and are cheaper. If you've got money to burn then get the Canon, if not this HP is a deal and you get a battery with it, what good is a mobile printer without a battery?
