Canon i860 Photo Printer Review

(More customer reviews)If you are looking for a printer that can print photo-store quality prints quickly, quietly...AND print high-quality text...then look no further...The low cost, separate (and relatively inexpensive) ink tanks, and separate black ink for text are just an added bonus!
I spent months looking and shopping around, and finally settled on the i860 after going to a store and testing the printers side-by-side.True, at the highest photo quality, a lot of these printers will look alike...but after "looking under the hood," I decided the Canon was the way to go...Here is the skinny:
"Top Ten Reasons To Buy This Printer"
(1) Great photo quality prints in a jiffy (some say like 43 seconds, but it seems faster);
(2) Quiet (it almost whispers);
(3) Good print quality on regular text/regular paper;
(4) Easy to set-up, and the documentation is excellent (took me less than 10 minutes);
(5) Fantastic software package that comes with the unit...try the "Easy Web Print" and I guarantee that you won't be disappointed;
(6) Ink tanks are separate (meaning you don't have to replace a whole 3, 4 or 5 color tank when one color runs out) and relatively inexpensive;
(7) The paper that works best with the printer is made by Canon, which is also relatively inexpensive;
(8) Their customer support is phenominal (I had one small issue that turned out to have nothing to do with the printer itself), and their support staff not only knew what they were doing, but I didn't have to hold for an hour;
(9) It's very moderately priced; and
(10) True borderless printing (no perforated paper).
"Top Six Reasons Not To Buy This Printer" (can't think of 10!)
(1) Maximum print size is 8 1/2 x 11.If you like to print posters, find another printer;
(2) No LCD screen, so the printer needs to be controlled from the computer (or Camera if you have PhotoBridge on your camera) and you cannot review pictures on the printer before you print;
(3) No USB or Parallel cable in the box (why not, I ask?);
(4) Photo quality prints do not look great on other papers besides Canon;
(5) It's really big;
(6) The 4x6 paper try is a tad bit awkward;

Canon i900D Photo Printer Review

(More customer reviews)I just upgraded from an HP 970 Cxi and couldn't be happier. My i900D makes top quality prints on Canon Glossy Photo Pro and Ilford Classic Glossy papers - better than the digital film processors I used. And, its ink is much cheaper than the HP's. And, it has a built in card reader that can be used by the PC and to print picures. And, it includes an LCD for printer status and picture preview (so so quality for picures). And it integrates very well with the great bundled software. And it includes a dedicated 4x6 feeder. And there was a...rebate when I bought it with my Canon S400.
The fact that it is slower than the i960 is actually a benefit. The i960's high speed causes some ink pooling on glossy papers like Ilford Classic Glossy - the i900D actually winds up with betters pics because its slower speed prevents pooling (based on what I have seen.)
Overall I've found excellent quality and all the features I could have wanted in a printer at a great price.

Epson Stylus Color 3000 Inkjet Printer Review

(More customer reviews)I have used this printer for the last three years. As a visual designer and a fine artist I have used this to print all sorts of design projects, illustrations, and web pages.
The colors this produces are a better match to what I see onscreen than any other color printer I have used (HP deskjets, HP color laser, Apple color laser). Even at "normal" quality on cheap paper, the prints are good enough to frame. I used this printer with photo quality paper to print the portfolio I show at job interviews. The dithering is subtle, with none of the dark-dot-amongst-light-dots problems that cause a speckled look on cheap printers.
The colors are vibrant, but ACCURATE (unlike the HP printers that always print colors oversaturated). As other reviewers have noted, the ink cartridges (separate for each color!) last a long time, typically several months with heavy usage.
The printing is fast, even at high quality, much faster than color laser printers, and comparable to most desktop printers.
The flat paper tray (as opposed to inclined) rarely jams. The tray can hold about 50 sheets of paper, so it is good for use in an office environment being shared by many people.
This can handle even light card stock, although I have had some varieties of 80# card stock JAM and refuse to go through. Unfortunately, the stock is forced to go through the rollers, and there is no way to open the back to allow it to go straight through and avoid jamming on heavy stock. This is the only bad thing about this printer.

Capable of using the same HP 10 black and HP 11 individual color ink cartridges, as well as replacement print heads as the HP Business Ink Jet 1100d and HP Business Ink Jet 1200d, the K850 shares the same low, per page operating cost as the 1100d and 1200d printers.Full page color photographs print in roughly 32 seconds, with a roughly eight second delay prior to the start of printing; similar prints from other printers may require from one to five minutes to print the same full page color photograph.White horizontal lines were present in the full page color photograph, possibly indicating that one or two of the nozzles in the print heads, shipped with the new printer, are defective.

(More customer reviews)If any graphic design artists need to print in CMYK and wide format, this is probably the best printer you can get in terms of cost and quality.The 88 ink is super cheap and it pumps out a LOT of pages.If you plan on doing a lot of printing but don't wanna pay as much as a laser jet printer, you should use a printer that uses the 88 ink.For 20.99 this cartridge can give you 1200 pages.What other cartridge on the market can do that for so cheap???What's even better is how 34 bucks you can get the XL and the XL can do 2400 pages.Again, what cartridge do you know of can give you 2400 pages for 34 bucks?It's a great printer at a great price when you can find it on sale.
